SPECIAL EVENTS

On Sunday, January 18th, we will welcome the return of Amador County resident Wendell Martin to the hotel for a performance of new material in his portrayal of Mark Twain. Dressed in the customary white suit, Martin plays Twain as a 70-year-old, speaking in a slow, gruff, whiskey-soaked drawl, relating the foibles and follies of his fellow man and weaving each tale and story as if he expects everyone to believe. A highlight of this performance is a dramatically told story from a novel or short story written by Twain.

The performance starts at 7 pm. Reservations are available for dinner prior to the performance with seating between 5 - 5:30 pm. Tickets for the performance are $15/person for the show only, $45 for dinner and show and advance purchase by calling or emailing the hotel is recommended!

3 WINE DINNERS COMING IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY starting on Saturday, January 24th with Bianchini Cellars, a small family-owned and operated winery that grows chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon on their property at the 3000 foot level outside Volcano. We have been serving their Estate Chardonnay in the restaurant for two years and loving it, so we’re looking forward to pouring it along with their syrah, merlot, barbera and cabernet sauvignon at this dinner. www.bianchinicellars.com

Our annual dinner featuring the top award winners from the Sierra Foothills at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition will take place on Friday February 20th. We will be scooping up some great wines to pour for you, and the ever-knowledgeable Dick Minnis will be telling you all about them.

Rounding out the Winter Wine Dinner schedule on Saturday, February 28th, we will join with Jeff Runquist Winery to present a dinner with Jeff’s Italian wines and our food that will give a you a taste of what is to come at Amador Four Fires - the newest Amador wine event that will take place on May 2nd at the Amador County Fairgrounds. This all-day celebration of Amador County wines from four different regions (Italy, Spain, Southern France and California heritage) is described as a “veritable rural county fair teeming with all things wine and food beckoning around every corner of the ten-acre site”.
