IT'S FALL ... ALREADY!
We’ve been busy here at the hotel
this year (good news!) and our newsletter to you has
been on the back burner (not so good). But no more!
Here’s what’s been happening....
CONSTRUCTION!! The lovely balcony on the front of
the hotel was replaced this summer and the bridge
replacement project in front of the hotel on Main
Street got underway in August. The new balcony
looks (pretty much) just like the old one, but it’s
much safer, and the new bridge should be in place by
the end of the month. As part of the bridge project,
there will be a new patio installed in front of the hotel
where we can serve customers. When it opens, we’ll
be expanding our hours to serve brunch on Saturday
and Sunday and lunch on Friday, so drop by and enjoy
our town’s new (but not too new) look.
Here’s news about what will be happening at the hotel
and in our area in the next few months:
Mokelumne Crossing, one of our favorite local
bands will be playing at the hotel in the evening on
October 26th and November 23rd. Join us for dinner
and great live music!
If you missed the Crush festival last weekend and
can’t wait for our next wine dinner, check out the
Amador Arts Council’s Winefest in Sutter Creek on
November 9th -- lots of local wineries pouring in the
shops, silent auction, desserts. More info at www.amadorarts.com.
Make your reservations early for our Thanksgiving
Dinner. We’ll be serving a 4-course turkey dinner for
$35/person, taking reservations starting at 4:30 up
until 6:30. Here’s the menu:
GINGERED BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP
ROAST TURKEY WITH PROSCIUTTO/HAZELNUT CRUST, ITALIAN SAUSAGE DRESSING,
MASHED POTATOES & GRAVY
VEGETARIAN OPTION AVAILABLE ON REQUEST
SERVED WITH AN ASSORTMENT OF FALL VEGETABLES
KALE SALAD WITH PINE NUTS, CURRANTS & PARMESAN
SPICED PUMPKIN LAYER CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
OR PECAN TART WITH ICE CREAM
We still have rooms available for those who would like to go “over the river and through the woods” for the holiday! The city of Jackson will be holding their annual Christmas Delights festival on Friday and Saturday, November 29th and 30th, so why not make a weekend of it and get all your shopping done early? or grab some tickets to see Volcano Theatre Company perform A Christmas Carol in the Cobblestone Theatre.
Moving right along in the holiday season, the Sutter Creek Christmas open house will be on Friday, December 6th and Amador City’s Calico Christmas festivities will be on Saturday, December 7th this year. Join us for some small town holiday cheer and great shopping in our unique stores! (and don’t forget that a gift certificate to the Imperial makes a great gift -- just call or email us and we’ll send it right out to you. We can even email it to you if you need it the same day.)
December also brings the start of our next round of Winemaker’s Dinners, beginning with Treasure Island Winery on December 14th (yes, there are wineries on the old Navy base!) followed in February by what has become our annual dinner celebrating the Sierra Foothill wines that win top awards at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Watch for our emails with the menus for each of these events, and be sure to reserve a room and take advantage of our Winemaker’s Dinner special package.
On January 18th, local historian Wendell Martin will be returning to the hotel with an all new Mark Twain performance. Reserve a room for this weekend and we’ll add two tickets to the performance at no charge.
We’ll be continuing our Thirty Third Room Package through the fall. Make an advance reservation for three consecutive nights in the same room and the third night is just $30. Such a deal! (Subject to availability and not available on holidays. May not be combined with other discounts.)
Looking ahead to 2014, be sure to take advantage of our January Room and Dinner Package: stay in any room in the historic hotel Tuesday through Thursday and enjoy a 3-course dinner for two for only $150 plus tax. Add a second week night for just $80.
A WORD ABOUT ONLINE RESERVATIONS....
More and more of our room reservations are being made online, which is a good thing, but please be aware that not all websites handle reservations in the same way. If you reserve directly with us through our website, imperialamador.com, we have a real-time booking engine, so you can be assured that you will be offered all available rooms and that you will be booked into the exact room you select at the rate shown. We will use your credit card to hold the room but will not charge anything until you check in, or if you have to cancel less than three days prior to check-in and we cannot rebook the room, we will charge a cancellation fee. Charges for reservations made through Booking.com are handled in the same way, but Booking.com does not show our full inventory, and you have the option of selecting only a room type (Queen, King, etc.) but not a specific room.
If you reserve through BedandBreakfast.com, Hotels.com, Expedia.com or another of their affiliates, those sites will charge your credit card as soon as you book, and we will not charge you anything at check-in. When you check-in, we will be paid directly by the third party website after they have deducted their commission. If you have to cancel the reservation, you will need to contact the site where you booked in order to have the charge to your card reversed. We do not have the ability to refund any of those charges.
Of course, we’re always happy to book a room for you if you call or email us!
Here again is that list of other websites to check for fun things to do here in Amador County:

As always, we appreciate your patronage and friendship, and we hope to see you soon!
